Imagination Library in Beaver Creek Will Need Our Ongoing Support

The families with small children in the Beaver Creek communities are very poor. Many struggle to put food on the table for their families. There are no major businesses in the communities, people go to Camp Verde or Cottonwood to shop, buy groceries or see a doctor. The primary sources for financial support for the Beaver Creek Imagination Library (BCIL) are the Lake Montezuma Women's Civic Club and Friends of the Beaver Creek Library. The plan for local fundraising is to network to individuals to contribute $30, $60, whatever they can afford to sponsor the program.

The demographics of the area are changing. Younger families are leaving to find employment elsewhere. Retirees are moving into the community. Much of the support for the community currently comes from Sedona. A church in Sedona provides the food for the community food bank. Sedona Elks Club sponsors a dictionary program for the school. While it is not the intent of the Rotary Club to be the sole support for BCIL, club members might wish to add their support as the program develops.
