Illuminate Film Festival expands human consciousness

Danette Wolpert (left), executive director of Illuminate Film Festival, expanded the consciousness of club members about the comprehensiveness of the film festival and healing during the club's April 4 meeting. Danette said the festival features films to help us live kinder, happier lives. "The films provide inspiring content that can have an impact on our social consciousness." She said the festival's selection team scanned 500 films and picked 22 to show. She shared exclusive information about upcoming trailors for: "The Rebound," about the National Wheelchair Championships; "City of Joy," healing women in a village in Africa who suffer from abuse; "Rumble - Indians that Rocked the World," and the world premier of "Heal," about how our bodies have the potential to heal. The festival opens May 31, with a movie under the stars at The Collective in Village of Oak Creek, and runs through June 4. For VIP Pass information and ticket prices go to: http://illuminatefilmfestival.com/  Club President Jennette Bill announced the book "They All Saw A Cat," will be donated to the Sedona Public Library on behalf of Danette's presentation.
After learning about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program, Rotarian David Simmer with the support of then Youth Services Chair, Jennette Bill, convinced the Rotary Club to take on the project with the hope that the program would have the community support needed to continue in Sedona and grow to neighboring communities. The support has been wonderful. Many supporters of the Great Sedona Chili Cook-Off are primarily motivated by the Imagination Library program and several people have become subscription contributors with monthly or annual contributions. - See more at: http://sedonarotary.org/Stories/imagination-library-5th-anniversary#sthash.O4vP8woi.dpuf
