Sedona Fire District celebrates 60 years

Sixty years ago the Sedona Chamber displayed a pot to collect funds for a truck for the Sedona Fire Department. Through the years other organizations helped its fire dept. grow including our Rotary club, which provided asbestos suits in 1969. Sedona Fire Chief Kris Kazian said the Sedona Fire District has maintained a high level of dedication and compassion to serving its community. The city and surrounding areas have more businesses, more people, and more traffic. Additional fire stations have been built to serve the growing needs of the community. Kris says the fire district is considering a bond to provide funds for future needs, which include maintaining stations and providing equipment and telecommunications. "We are working hard everyday to provide the best service when you need it," Kris said. He adds to look for upcoming information. A member of the Rotary Club of Sedona Red Rocks, Kris says he appreciates all the work we do. Club President Jennette Bill announced the book "Simple Signs" will be donated to the Sedona Public Library on behalf of Kris.
