Rainbow Acres home for developmentally disabled

Rainbow Acres is just that--a beautiful 50-acre ranch-style campus in Camp Verde for developmentally disabled adults. Margie Beach, director of Communications and Community Relations, shared stories about their residents they call "Ranchers." The Ranchers are able to develop to their full potential through educational, vocational and fine arts programs. Their incredibly colorful artwork appears in the Rainbow Acres 2016 Calendar. Margie said some of their work is on display and for sale in their gift shop. Margie also said it costs about $3,678 per month to house and provide programs and services for each Rancher.  She invites members of the community to Adopt a Rancher. For more information and to donate go to: https://www.rainbowacres.com/ Club President Tim Ernster said a children's book in honor of Margie's visit to the club will be donated to Sedona Public Library.

Kierya Shelley visits club

Kierya Shelley, a senior at Red Rock High School and member of the Interact Club, is planning a summer trip to Germany. Kierya said the experience will be life-changing for her and asks for financial support to help make the trip possible. She has save $3,000 so far, but needs an additional $5,000 for all her expenses. Members donated $323 during the club meeting and agreed to give the full amount to Kierya. She posted a thank you to the club on her gofundme page. Kierya still needs more help, so please go to: http://gofundme.com/vuqejjtw.
