Rotary Honor Student Noah Bohme recognized

Club President Tim Ernster and Rotarian Catherine Moore presented Red Rock High School student Noah Bohme with a $1,000 scholarship award to the college/university of his choice. Noah was selected by his school's faculty and staff because of his community service, demonstrated leadership abilities and excellent academic record. Noah has belonged to organizations including Interact, Key Club and the National Honor Society. Noah thanked the club for inviting him to the meeting and praised his experience at RYLA. "(RYLA) is such a great program and one of the best things Rotary has done for this school," Noah said.

Interact Students help Music in Memory

Interact students Sydney Hambrick (2nd left) and Leza Richardson (far right) from Red Rock High School present club members Holli Ploog (far left) and Ron Goldman with approximately $511 they raised for the club's Music in Memory Program, along with iPods loaded with music for residents of Kachina Point. The Music in Memory Program is for older adults impacted by dementia. Ron says "As we gain more success we will hopefully scale the project up to other facilities in other communities."

Wendy Edwards explains DUI & the law

Attorney Wendy Edwards discussed the dos and don'ts for persons who get stopped by law enforcement officers for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. She said "if ever confronted remember two rules: Don't ever lie to a police officer; and don't incriminate yourself." Wendy gave sample scenarios and explained the best ways to respond to an officer. Club President Tim Ernster thanked Wendy for speaking during the Jan. 19 meeting and announced the  "Book of Nature Poetry" will be donated to the Sedona Public Library on her behalf.

John Terhune Paul Harris Fellow

Club President Tim Ernster presents Rotarian John Terhune with a Paul Harris Fellow pin during the Jan. 19 meeting. John, who serves on the Public Relations Committee, said he is "honored to be connected to this club." He particularly praised RYLA and the achievements of all the students who participate in this leadership opportunity.

Dick Weisbaum Paul Harris Fellow

Club President Tim Ernster also presented Dick Weisbaum with Paul Harris Fellow pin and certificate during the Jan. 19 meeting. Dick has served as Sergeant at Arms and frequently fills in when needed. Tim gave thanks to Dick and his wife Cynthia for their PHF support.
Linda Clark PR Committee Chair

Linda Clark chairs PR Committee

Linda thanked Club President Tim Ernster for the pin he presented to her for serving as the new PR Committee Chair, replacing former chair, Assistant Governor Renata Barnwell. "Renata's shoes will be hard to fill," Linda said. "I will do my best with Miki (Dzugan) at my side as well as all the members of the PR Committee." Linda is the development and communications manager for Verde Valley Caregivers and has been producing the club's newsletter the past two years.
