New Years All Year Round!

Join The Rotary Club of Sedona
in celebration of the many ethnic new years traditions
available right here in our community.

To most of us New Years means waiting up until midnight to toast the New Year in, preferably with friends, dancing, funny hats and noisemakers. But January 1 is not the only new years on the calendar! There are many other new years and many ways to celebrate. Here is a calendar of new years for 2010. We will only celebrate a few of them.

The Rotary Club of Sedona started the New Years celebrations in 2008 to recognize the international nature of Rotary and the desire of Rotary to promote world-wide peace and understanding. By celebrating and calling attention to the various cultures that make up the fabric of our community, Sedona Rotary hopes to promote understanding locally.

2010 New Years Celebrations

	Thai New Year Celebration Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 5:00 pm Tara Thai Restaurant, Bell Rock Plaza Over 60 people attended the Songkran event. Ladies were given decorations made of orchids and other small white flowers that formed a purple and white ring. There was endless wonderful food, massage, music and dancers, games and prizes. Chinese New Year Sunday, February 28, 2010 There was plenty of food and fun as we celebrated the last day of Chinese New Year at the Red Chopstick at Bell Rock Plaza. Renata and Richard Barnwell have front row seats for Simon Ho's demonstration of the traditional method of making noodles. No extrusion or slicing, just keep making the strands of dough longer and thinner.             Simon proudly displays the finished product,. 128 - oops, broke one - 127 fresh Chinese noodles.
