Scholarship Program

For the 2008 - 2009 school year, Sedona Rotary is recognizing outstanding scholarship and social responsibility of Red Rock High School Seniors through the student of the month and annual scholarship program.

The Rotary Club of Sedona Endowment will award $6,500 in Scholarships to College bound senior students at Red Rock High School. These awards will be presented at an awards ceremony at the High School in May.

Sept. 2009 Student of the Month Jessica Powers

Jessica's parents, Bob and Catherine, joined her as Rotary’s guests to receive the September Student of the Month scholarship. She is Senior Class President and is recognized as a solid and reliable student with a strong spirit of community service. Congratulations, Jessica.

Oct. 2009 Student of the Month Garrett Debs

He participated in RYLA, VP of Freshman and Sophomore Class for Student Council, has been Pres and Treasurer of FBLA, Member of the National Honor Society, Captain of Cross-Country team two years in a row, 1st team all region Sophomore, Junior and Senior year (Cross-Country), School record holder in the 1600 meter run, 4x800 meter relay, 4x400 meter relay, Superior Honor Roll every semester. His parents are Debra and Steven Debs.

Nov. 2009 Student of the Month Yadira Lira Mata

She has been a student at Sedona Red Rock High School for 3 years. She did not initially speak English, and credits her teachers with the advances she has made. She makes the statement that if you want something you can do it. She loves to meet new people. Her parents are Gerardo Lira and Lidia Mata.

Club members were inspired by Daniella Lagunas, Rotary’s January Student of the Month.  She is recovering from a disability and maintaining a top grade level at Red Rock High School.  Her Dad, Areo, and Sister, Karla, joined in her well deserved recognition.

Feb. 2010 Student of the Month Kyle Granchelli

The parents and grandparents of Kyle Granchelli, joined Club members in recognizing him as February’s Student of the Month.  Kyle is a member of the National Honor Society and outstanding RRHS student.
