The club's exchange student Mèri Magrone is adorned in her Youth Exchange Coat as she shares information about herself and her experiences the past year. Her time as a student at Sedona Red Rock High School was very special as she made many friends and developed life-long relationships. Mèri came to Sedona and our club through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sedona.
Mèri, who celebrated her 19th birthday here, is from La Louviere, Belgium. Her mom is Greek and her Dad is Italian. Mèri speaks 5 languages including French, Greek, English, Dutch and Spanish. She was hosted by three families in Sedona: Mark Reese and Erin Loessler and daughter Mykah Niewyk; Nicole Davis and her daughter Lily; and her last host family Cheryl and Mike Travaglia and their son Michael. Mèri was given a photograph of Sedona taken by Club President David Simmer and was signed by members of the Rotary Club of Sedona.
The Club's Vice President Jennette Bill (left), held a Short Term Youth Exchange Orientation and Rotarian Pot-Luck Dinner in her home last Saturday. Mèri Magrone introduces her recent host family, (L-R) Michael, Mike and Cheryl Travaglia.
