Rotarian Jim Rumpeltes, assisted by "Gil" the goldfish, discussed how ethics impact Rotary business as well as our daily lives. Jim, from Surprise, Ariz., presented several scenarios. One story involved a mother accidentally knocking her son's goldfish bowl over. She couldn't find the fish fast enough, so it died. Thinking she had just enough time to get a new goldfish before her son gets home, she hurried to the pet store. Unfortunately, her son arrives home to see her walking towards the house with the goldfish in the baggie. What should she say? A lively discussion followed. To everyone's dismay, Jim threw Gil into the crowd at the end of his presentation. It turns out this Gil was plastic!

Club President David Simmer thanked Dick Youngberg for his leadership of the club's International Service Committee. Youngberg updated the club on its international projects, which include the library project in Vera Cruz and a new project coming up in Bangalore, India. The club also has $500 set aside for a ShelterBox fundraiser. David said our club is right up there with other very active clubs.

Dick Youngberg reminds members Bashas' cards are still available if you don't have one yet. Please see Dick for a replacement or new card. He has full instructions for use. The club receives about $1,000 each year from this program.
