Susan Howe from Honors Flights in Prescott, says the program flies WWII veterans to Washington, DC to see the World War II Memorial. Since 2004, the program has taken 200,000 veterans to this memorial and others. Susan said her program plans to take 6 veterans to Washington this fall.
Club member John Crawford won the winning bid on a bottle of Scotch, which was the favorite brand of beloved member Rod Abbott. Bill Minard facilitated a Chinese auction for the Scotch, which raised over $225.
John Crawford reminded everyone that tickets are available for Rotary Day at Arizona Diamondbacks on Sept. 13, 1:10 p.m. at Chase Field. If our club sells 30 tickets it will get 4 premium box seats at a 2015 game of choice. These tickets could be auctioned to raise club funds. Tickets are: $45; $25; and $16. For more information contact John. The Diamondbacks will salute Rotary prior to the game. A portion of each ticket sold will go to Polio Plus.
