Jennette Bill takes the gavel

Past President Tim Ernster passes the gavel to new President Jennette Bill during the club's Installation Dinner held June 28 at Sedona Rouge. Jennette lauded Tim for an incredible year of leadership. "You gave us a lot of love and a lot of care," she  said. Likening the year ahead to a garden, Jennette said she is here to serve the club and to serve Rotary. She  added, the seeds from one garden are growing great leaders. "I'm looking forward to working with you," she said. One by one, Jennette announced the 2016/17 officers, directors, and committee chairs. Thanking them for their service, she said "Put your garden gloves on and let's serve Rotary." For the list of officers, directors, and chairs, please go to http://sedonarotary.org/ClubExecutives.

Harvey Grady receives Paul Harris Make-A-Difference Award

During the club's Installation Dinner, Past President Tim Ernster presented Harvey Grady with this year's prestigious Paul Harris Make-A-Difference Award. Tim said Harvey, nominated by Rotarian Jerry Wesch, was chosen from 22 nominations. A native Arizonan, Harvey has lived in Sedona for 20 years, and as Founder and President/CEO for Cornucopia Community Advocates, he has spent the past 15 years making the Verde Valley a better place. In 2009, Harvey said "hunger became my core issue." That's when he founded the Yavapai Food Council to provide the Verde Valley with leadership and guidance toward eliminating hunger and creating a sustainable food system.  In addition to his award, Tim presented him with a "Gift to the World" pin. "Thanks so much," Harvey said. "I really appreciate this." His wife Julie also attended the event. Tim Ernster gives accolades to many who made his term a success

"We had a great year. We had fun," Past President Tim Ernster said. "Service above self means so much to me because that's what this club does. Living by that test I see passion and dedication and selfless sacrifice." Tim reviewed just some of the great work the club and its members are doing: helping to eradicate polio around the world; expansion of the Imagination Library to the Verde Valley; International Committee doing so much for the world; the Membership Committee and other club Rotarians bringing in new members who are stepping up. "It's been a wonderful year for me. I can't say enough for what everyone has done. I thank you from the bottom of my heart." New President Jennette Bill presented Tim with his Past President pin and thanked him for a wonderful year of accomplishments and leadership.
