Elves Wrap Gifts for Families

Club members wrap gifts for families in need

 
Rotarians gathered at Jennette Bill's home to wrap gifts club members purchased for two Sedona families in need. Big thanks to Ray Harris for coordinating the project with the Food Bank. The elves L-R are: Penny Blazej, Ray Harris, Nancy Karademos, Holli Ploog, Al Barton, and Tony Blazej.

Meeting Highlights

Kai Zimmerman awarded Rotary scholarship

Red Rock High School honor student Kai Zimmerman was recognized for his academic achievements during the club's Nov. 13, 2018 meeting. Kai received a $1,000 Rotary Scholarship to the college of his choice. Kai plans to major in Business at University of Arizona Honors College and hopes to start his own business. Helping him celebrate are his parents Stuart and Holli Zimmerman and RRHS Teacher Paul Pavlich.
 
 
 

Student Ambassador Charlie Gruneberg recognized

Upper elementary teachers of Sedona Charter School nominated Charlie Gruneberg to receive a Rotary Ambassador Award. "He exhibits a kind and generous heart, he is witty, intelligent, organized, meticulous, and diligent," say his teachers. "As Charlie prepares to move on to middle school next year, we have the comfort of knowing that he will be successful not only as an excellent student, but an amazing human being." Also in the photo are his parents Chris and Janice Gruneberg, teacher Suzi Ashley.
 
 

Student Ambassador Jason Garcia recognized

Jason Garcia was nominated by his teacher Mrs. Workman because he demonstrates true and deserving character in the classroom. "Jason exemplifies as an admirable citizen in the classroom." In group work, Workman (back center) adds, Jason always makes his partner(s) feel comfortable and safe no matter their differences in interests or academic level. Jason was also joined by his family.

People in the News - Supporting Rotary Foundation

During the Jan. 15 meeting, Dr. Jean Barton received her Paul Harris Fellow plus three award and in a poignant gesture, pinned her new gem on her husband Al, also club vice president. 
In an earlier meeting, Rotarian John Terhune transferred 1,000 points to his wife Andrea, who received a Paul Harris Fellow award. Thanks for supporting Rotary Foundation.
